Going to be Finnished 25/04/14

25.04.14 - Meeting the "Dry" Season
Its been roughly 2 months since I arrive in Finland. Its been a great time to bond with my school mates here. Today I am feeling very drain out.. I don't really feel like doing anymore work.. I am feeling sad :(, sad to spend so much time in my interest to the point that I am sick of it. Nothing new to learn but to do repetitive things. But the good thing is I did finish rigging my astronaut! I am going to put texture on him soon. I really hope I can use him to make storyboards.
The pirate menu has been done! But I have no idea if there is any non-disclosure agreements with my team (because we may get funded for our project). So I guess it would be save if I keep it confidential for the moment.

Now I am proceeding to making level selection map.

On Wednesday we've an opportunity to meet Minh Le, a.k.a Gooseman, the creator of the first Counter Strike, the first FPS game I ever play in my early childhood. I remembered clearly when I was 12 years old my mum brought me into the game store to pick any game I wish to buy. After scanning through the shop I knew what I wanted to buy, "Half Life Counter Strike". Turns out that you need internet to play it, the only part I played was the tutorial mode. Thats it. But it was the first game that spark my interest in playing FPS games.

Back to Minh Le, we have an opportunity to meet him in our school as he is giving a talk about his journey in the gaming industry. He only worked with Valve for the early years of Counter Strike, now he has his own Indie company and published a game called "Tactical Intervention." Something he wanted to make that Counter Strike didn't have. Sad to say, it didn't make as much reputation or fortune as his early years of making Counter Strike (from my perspective). But what I admire is his ambition to work on and working where he is happy at.
